Standing in Time Photography was founded in 2011 after Ben and Danielle attempted to find a high quality, yet still affordable photographer for on-location family pictures. When nothing was available, they decided to forge their own path to ensure that other families and individuals could find an inclusive, welcoming, high quality, and afforable business to help them capture important milestones without the cheesy look of big-box photographers.
As kids, both Ben and Danielle only had school and church directory pictures to show as “professional” portraits as professional photography remained out of the monetary reach of both of their families. Now as adults, they wish they had better pictures of themselves growing up and of their families, and they hope they can help other people accomplish just that.
Images are priceless pieces of history that we often overlook until its too late. Our goal is to offer professional photographs to people from all walks of life and in any setting. We are equipped to shoot in traditional settings such as weddings, senior pictures and family pictures as well as the less traditional car shows, action sports/music events and most other venues about which you'd like to inquire.
Ben is the main photographer. He studied at the Maine College of Art, focusing primarily on three dimensional design and print making. However, he truly found his passion in wildlife photography. While he adores the outdoor life (and, in fact, he spent four years practically living in the wilderness!!) and the beauty it holds, he has since branched out to capture the less elusive, but equally enjoyable to photograph, public. He feels that a good picture cannot come from a highly posed, awkward setting. Personality seeps through when you're having fun, and that personality and the genuine smiles that only reveal themselves when you're having a good time, are as satisfying to capture on film as the elusive birds he once photographed. He firmly believes that everyone should feel comfortable in their element and be able to afford high quality pictures of themselves and loved ones.
Danielle generally stays a little more behind the scenes. She’s an academic by trade, so you’re more likely to see her in front of a classroom full of college students, but she helps out with Standing in Time by keeping track of appointments and taking care of the blog. She does occasionally help out by picking up a camera to act as a secondary shooter. She particularly enjoys hiding in shrubbery to get the weird angles while Ben gets the more traditional shots (and all the main action!). She adores the visual arts, but her training is much less rigorous than Ben's. Her artistic training comes from her artist father and classes taken with a former photography professor in her hometown.Shoot us an email (yes, pun intended!) if you want more information! standingintimephotography@gmail.com
